Finally, I have both Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age recorded, and I’ve watched them recently. I first saw Elizabeth some ten years ago, so it was interesting to watch it again. As for The Golden Age, I’ve discovered it only now.

It seems that Mary Stuart haunts me. :) I‘ve watched the film La Princesse de Clèves last week, and there was Mary Stuart!

La Princesse de Clèves (1961) is a French film directed by Jean Delannoy, with Marina Vlady and Jean Marais. It is based on Madame de La Fayette’s novel.

I won’t say the film is perfect, but it’s really worth watching.

Now I have read The Abbot by Sir Walter Scott, an interesting sequel to The Monastery. I liked the first novel in spite of all criticisms, and the second volume is good enough for me, too.
